I wanted to emphasize some facts from a recent OTR report on WAN optimization. This is a field in its infancy, a field that is expected to grow at 40% q-q for the next several years…something to keep your eye on. For the full report please take a look here. Write Comment (0 Comments) |

An extra tidbit from a report OTR did on wireless PDA’s. In the war for market share among smart-phone users RIMM’s new Pearl, a slimmer, thinner blackberry, is gaining share in an unexpected place. RIMM meant for Pearl to be a consumer product with its mp3 player and camera. What RIMM did not expect was for it to also take off in the corporate area.Write Comment (0 Comments) |

I love reading AD Age...to me it is the people magazine for marketing stories...each week when I read it, I can usually find one or two stories that really get me thinking about a companies revenue strategy or focus in a different way than I see from Wall Street. So in the tradition of finding things different I will be commenting on some of these stories on a regular basis. Here are three stories I found in the November 27,2006 issue that might be of interest to you....Write Comment (0 Comments) |

Okay, week after Thanksgiving and my title may be too esoteric but here are two items on this week's Turbines in High Demand Report: first, besides demand being so great that right now availability is key to sale...Write Comment (0 Comments) |

This week while you are eating too much turkey I thought you might want to think about a couple items in our last report on SNY’s Acomplia weight loss drug. Because two of Sanofi”s drugs are going off patent soon, Acomplia has to do well to stem the tide….and if it does what it promises it could be a blockbuster success.

TSCO is best of breed in rural stores....they whiffed somewhat in sept qtr, due to sga increases, despite improving sss trends. From what I've learned from co and folks like Larry Leeds who owns the name, this is a strong long-term player that shd grow revs and eps about 20% per annum going forward. If true, you want to buy when there's a hiccup. Write Comment (0 Comments) |

And the English and Americans are in serious like with him. Our recent report on BF/B indicates a strong European demand for BF/B’s signature Jack Daniel’s whiskey, especially in France. Makes me think Jack is poised to become the next global brand like Coke and Nike. Write Comment (0 Comments) |

Couple comments I would like to add on our positive research on Petsmart last week...first, I believe that PetSmart unlike most other retailers has the ability to raise prices on a variety of products as owners treat their pets more like humans....as they do they are willing to pay more for products and services....some industry observers expect the pet services industry to grow high single digits over the next five years ...I believe that is a low end number and growth will exceed that. With training and grooming aspects expected to be the fastest growing segment, PetSmart has even a greater chance of exceeding this number as they staff up in this area. Write Comment (0 Comments) |
